[edit] Sakura Sakurada

Hi Cherryblossom1982, and welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you find contributing here as fun and interesting as I have. Great work at the Sakura Sakurada article so far! There are just a couple things I'd like to point out-- I don't doubt any of the text you've added to the article, but we need sourcing. Especially in articles such as these, anything that goes unsourced either gets deleted, or endangers the entire article for deletion-- so meticulous sourcing is important. (If you're not comfortable with sourcing format, just stick in a web link or something, and I'll be happy to fix it up.) On the filmography-- again, great work. I like to put these in tables though-- it's not required, but it just looks nice, and provides a standard format among these articles. When you add to them, please don't overwrite an existing table. It would be best if you could add your entries to the table, but, again, if you're not comfortable with that, just put them after the existing table, and I'll format it later. Also, for sourcing the filmography (or anything else) Japanese Wikipedia articles (though possibly accurate), are not considered reliable sourcing, and will endanger the article. A link to the video companies which contain the actress' filmographies should be fine. Again-- a great start at Wikipedia. Cheers! Dekkappai (talk) 18:42, 24 April 2008 (UTC)

Thanks, Cherryblossom1982-- those look like good sources, and I'll format them tomorrow (I've only got about 15 minutes online tonight). About Japanese Wiki as a source-- Open Wikis are not considered reliable sources. I can understand this, since anyone can edit a Wiki-- just like here. Personally, I look at Wiki articles as only as good as their sourcing. If a Wiki article contains outside sourcing, then use those sources, not the Wiki article. If the Wiki article has no sourcing, then it's basically an anonymous editor writing things that may or may not be accurate. The Japanese Wiki articles often frustrate me, because I assume the writers have gathered their information from good sources, but they rarely cite them... You say you've verified the Japanese with outside sources-- those are the sources to cite in our articles. I'll try to work on the Sakura Sakurada article this weekend. I understand about the table-- tables on filmographies this big get a bit awkward. There are probably ways we can work around it though... I'll play around with a few formats. Glad to have someone else helping on these articles. Happy editing! Dekkappai (talk) 04:13, 26 April 2008 (UTC)
Hi, Cherryblossom1982. I've just posted a version of your filmography in table format. I've kept all the data you had in your list, just changed things around a little. If we need to cut any one field out, I would suggest the "Duration". But I think it looks OK. Still some changes need to be done-- the intro to the Filmography will have to be changed, and I'll reformat the citations to the sources later. We will probably get complaints about the lenght of the filmography, and we might want to think about putting it as a stand-alone article later. (I suggest holding off on doing that though, since this is the type of subject that often comes up for deletion-- no need tempting fate until we have to.) Anyway, I want to compliment you again on a great job on a very exhaustive filmography. Is Sakurada the only subject you plan on doing this thorough a job with? My time for researching these subjects is very limited, so I can't put together as complete lists as you have. If you want to work on filmographies for other JAV actresses, I'll be happy to help put it all together. Cheers! Dekkappai (talk) 22:29, 28 April 2008 (UTC)
Thanks, Cherryblossom1982. Yes, Maria Ozawa certainly deserves a full filmography, I would think. I'll look around for info (i.e., evidence of "notability") for Akane Hotaru, and see if we can get an article started up for her. If so, I'll probably do my usual smaller filmography, then let you tackle the whole thing later when you get the urge. Cheers, and happy editing! Dekkappai (talk) 16:06, 29 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Akane Hotaru

Hi again, Cherryblossom1982. If this Japanese Wiki article on Akane Hotaru is correct, then Akane Hotaru is guaranteed "notability." It says Weekly Playboy gave her the "AV Academy Award rookie award." I'll try to verify this, and start putting together an article on her later this week. Cheers! Thanks, Cherryblossom. Those links will be very useful. I've started an article that I'll post in a scratch-page later today. I've come across her ballet background too, and it makes me wonder... We had an article on an AV actress who performed in 2 or 3 ballet-themed videos. Her only claim to fame at the time (a significant one, I think), was that she was scheduled to appear in Takeshi Kitano's then-future film, Glory to the Filmmaker!. The article was deleted and I've since lost the actress's name. Could it have been Akane Hotaru? Dekkappai (talk) 17:53, 30 April 2008 (UTC)
Here it is: User:Dekkappai/Tools/Japan/In progress. Feel free to add anything to it while in progress. I'll put it up as an article once notability is more firmly established. Dekkappai (talk) 18:32, 30 April 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for pointing out the mainstream film appearance-- that will help in case anyone tries to delete it, but I think we've got notability pretty firmly established now, so I've put the article up. Take a look at Hotaru Akane and feel free to add anything you can. Cheers! Dekkappai (talk) 18:39, 5 May 2008 (UTC)

Thanks, Cherryblossom. If you know of any other big subjects in the field who don't have articles, let me know. Dekkappai (talk) 17:46, 8 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Stephen Hunter

Hi Cherryblossom. That's an interesting little section you put in the Sakura Sakurada article about the Stephen Hunter book. I checked it, and have no doubt it's all true-- he mentions the name "Sakura" (which, in itself is not positive proof), but then goes on to name some of her appearances and describe her fairly well... It would be nice to have an outside source for this though-- an interview or article where (preferably) he states it, or a critic points it out. Where did you find this? Just from the book? Again, very interesting, and great work-- I'll try to reformat it and maybe add more sourcing to it later. Cheers! Dekkappai (talk) 18:53, 10 May 2008 (UTC)

Ah... The forum chat won't be usable, but I didn't notice the acknowledgements section-- that is pretty conclusive evidence. I'll source it later. Thanks! Dekkappai (talk) 20:10, 12 May 2008 (UTC)
