[edit] Attack
Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on this page, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because the article is a page created primarily to disparage its subject or a biography of a living person that is controversial in tone and unsourced, where there is no neutral point of view version in the history to revert to. (CSD G10).
To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting the article, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Please note, this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion, it did not nominate the article itself. Feel free to leave a message on the bot operator's talk page if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot. CSDWarnBot (talk) 05:01, 22 April 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Southwest Gate incident
The article was heavily POV already in the little bit you wrote and certainly the tone was inclined to disparage Clinton. This made it unlikely that it could be made into a WP:NPOV article. Actually the bit you wrote didn't even accurately represent the source you included in the article. This incident is unlikely to be able to support an article. I could see the incident being part of a larger article on Republican views of Clinton's military experience. Or lack of experience as the case might be. At least part of the problem was taking the one incident and trying expand outward to the political and rhetorical uses of the incident. This is backwards for how an article should be constructed. An article should take a particular subject and break it down to smaller component parts/sections in the article. What you had was the beginning of a polemic and, yes, an attack intended to disparage.
I agreed with the nominator of the article to be speedy deleted for G10. In this situation, there is no consulting with the creator of the article beyond notifying you that the article was nominated for SD. Often the time between the SD nomination and deletion of the article by an admin is very short, sometimes as little as a few minutes.
You are welcome to begin a new article on the subject but I suggest you take a look at some of the basic policies on WP before doing so. You can also start the article in your user space as a subpage. That way you can work on building a basic article before putting it into WP mainspace. Unfortunately, sometimes editors are a little too eager to sweep new articles out before they have a chance to develop a little. Just a suggestion. If you have other questions, I'd be happy to answer them. Below are some links that you might find helpful. Cheers, Pigman☿ 04:18, 23 April 2008 (UTC)
