Chester Harding (1792-1866), American portrait painter, wet collodion on glass photograph c 1860-1865, taken by the L. C. Handy Studios. This image is from the Library of Congress online collection; it was restricted until 1964 but the Library states there are now no known restrictions on publication.

CREATED/PUBLISHED: [ca. 1860-1865] NOTES: Title from unverified information on negative sleeve. Annotation from negative, scratched into emulsion: 4665, 1212. Annotation from negative, glass side: Chester Harding, 6465 [crossed out]. Restricted Brady-Handy Collection until Sept. 10, 1964. Permission to print this negative must be obtained from L.C. Handy Studios [Note: this restriction expired in 1964]. Forms part of Brady-Handy Photograph Collection (Library of Congress).
