Chestertown is a hamlet (unincorporated village) in Warren County, New York, United States, in the Adirondack Mountains. The population was 2,187 at the 2000 census. The community is located by the junction of Route 8 and U.S. Route 9.

Chestertown is in the heart of Adirondack Mountains, in the town of Chester. The latitude of Chestertown is 43.652N, the longitude is -73.801W. It is in the Eastern Standard time zone. Elevation is 843 feet, and the Zip Code is 12817. Nearest city is Glens Falls.

The community was founded in 1799 by New Englanders who built mills along it's creeks.

Children from Chestertown along with children from the neighboring communities of Adirondack, Brant Lake and Pottersville attend North Warren Central School.

Old school in the center of the town was transformed to the community center with public library and town hall. There is also theater in the town. Main Street (U.S. Route 9) is lined with many stores, including Glens Falls National Bank.

There are two churches in the center of Chestertown. Catholic church of St. John the Baptist and Community United Methodist Church.

Peckham Materials Corp, a manufacturer asphalt and crushed stone, operates a large quarry at the Southern end of the Town.

Lincoln Logs Ltd., a manufacturer of log, timber, and cedar homes, operates a large mill.
