Cheiropteriphily is the pollination by bats (Bat Pollination)
- This pollination occurs in plants growing in the tropical regions.Bats visit flowers to suck nectar, chew the pollen and feed on the insects found there.
- The following are characteristics of flowers pollinated by bats:
- They are large sized
- They have large pedicles
- They produce large amount of nectar
- They open at night(to meet with the nocturnal nature of bats) and emit scent.
