[edit] History
Cheer Athletics was founded in 1994 by Angela Rogers and Jody Melton in Plano, TX, with the goal to "build the largest, most prestigious all-star program in the country." Cheer Athletics won its first NCA national title in Spring of 1995. They have grown tremendously in the years since, changing locations several times to accommodate their increased enrollment. Cheer Athletics is one of the few programs to be highly competitive in multiple senior level 5 divisions. Their current location in Garland, TX (a suburb of Dallas) features a 40,000 square feet practice area and an additional 5000 square feet of lobby/office area.
[edit] Teams
They currently have 17 teams, ranging in age from 5 to adult. They have 4 coed teams, and 6 level 5 teams, the highest level allowed for athletes under 18. They also have 4 teams who have taken home gold medals at the Cheerleading Worlds. Alumni from Cheer Athletics have gone to cheer for many colleges, including the award winning University of Kentucky.[2], University of Louisville[2], and Texas State University.[3] which are all of the top five Cheer Xs list of Top Collegiate Programs, either coed or all girl.
