Talk:Chat

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Chat is the generic term.

Online chat refers to both typed and spoken (voice mail) communication.

Chat room is a metaphor specific to web 'sites', seemingly.

Instant messaging is a type of commercial program that includes email and typed communication. Some of them claim to support v-mail as well, but none have features of dedicated voice mail services like in net dating systems.

Who cares about what it is in french?

  • While not the most necessary disambiguation note, I see nothing wrong with mentioning it. It is a common word that many English speakers are probably aware of.--Aleron235 22:30, 7 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Propaganda posters

I feel these have nothing to do with the article, so I'll remove them.--Aleron235 22:30, 7 February 2006 (UTC)

Hear me, oh beings, for here is wisdom. Our lady of the new millenium has arrived, and her name is Katie. Tom is but a thetan shell, delivered to announce the arrival of 'she who must be obeyed'. An intergalactic spaceship, captained by none other than the Source, will arrive soon to take all Clears to their final destiny. (weather permitting, of course....)

- Oh, before I embark on my journey towards spiritual mastery, I need to wash my brain. Does anyone know of a good shampoo?

(Aaargh... I just got a death threat. Must be another government conspiracy to conceal the REAL truth...)

I deleted the message: "Gremio! Tricolor de Porto Alegre!" as it is not related to the article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.112.225.137 (talk) 20:42, 25 September 2007 (UTC)
