[edit] Notability
I know the guy is important within F1, but I'm iffy on his notability for Wikipedia. He's like middle management compared to Max Mosley and Bernie Eccelstone. Guroadrunner 05:31, 3 December 2007 (UTC)
- I take your point, but I suspect there are many Wikipedia articles about people who aren't especially well known outside their own particular field. Here are some (admittedly not overwhelming) arguments in favour of Charlie Whiting having his own Wikipedia article:
- he was a central figure in the controversy surrounding the 2005 United States Grand Prix, which received considerable mainstream press coverage
- Googling "charlie whiting" "formula 1" returns about 15200 hits (I recognise that the number of Google hits isn't an especially good gauge of notability)
- he's considered notable enough to have his own article at www.grandprix.com (I acknowledge that this is "within his own particular field")
