I would be inclined to delete: "During the time of Chauvel's service on the Lottery Board and on Meridian (the commercial entities in respect of which public records are available) each business grew substantially in value and profitability." as it reads too much like advocacy, as it seeks to link his presence on a board with the increase in value.

It is inappropriate to write "gay partner", when it is factually correct to write "male partner", and it is less offensive, too. After all, straight people don't have "straight partner" or "heterosexual wife or husband", they just have a note that at the most indicates the gender of their partner, often not even that. This use of "gay partner" is more likely to occur in provincial newspapers, like "lesbian lover", and appears disapproving (and is therefore not neutral). Kiwimw 07:20, 11 July 2006 (UTC)
