I've removed and pasted the following uncited comment:

However, contrary to some claims, the game was never withdrawn from sale. The title sold poorly and it was for this reason that the proposed expansion kits were cancelled. Games Workshop believed weak sales were due, ironically, to the game being sold in a shallow box and at a lower price than usual, leading some customers to believe the game was a low quality, budget release.

It's an interesting spin on Games Workshops blatant copyright infringement and subsequent reaction. Some of it is demonstrably incorrect - the box the same size as Talisman, Dungeonquest 2nd edition Warhammer, 1st Edtion Blood Bowl, (and all other GW boxed games of the time).
