Talk:Changi Air Base

Upon Singapore's attainment of self-determination in 1965, and the withdrawal of British troops, RAF Changi was renamed as Changi Air Base and handed over to the Republic of Singapore Air Force.
This is not quite correct - My father was stationed at RAF Changi, and it was still known as that in 1968 when my family left. I believe in the early 1970s the British were replaced by Austalian services before the base (along with the others) became fully operated by the Singapore defence forces. Can anybody expand on this aspect with some more dates? regards, Lynbarn (talk) 23:34, 29 March 2008 (UTC)
- Hello there, I was hoping that someone might come along and help me with this, I searched through RSAF main site and it is of no help to me, a lot of details are still quite sketchy. For instance, RAF Chia Keng is one good example, which unit was stationed here in Changi as well the aircraft type. If you had read through RAF Tengah, you would know that I did quite a lot research there and got it wrote down. Hence, this is where you come in, please share with us or better yet, provide your input in the page under the section of "RAF Changi". Thank you. -- Dave1185 (talk) 23:54, 29 March 2008 (UTC)
- Oh and by the way, do be bold and write what you knew had been deployed there. I got the Changi Air Base & Changi Air Base (West) parts covered, so I'll just leave you the RAF Changi part to cover. What say you? -- Dave1185 (talk) 23:59, 29 March 2008 (UTC)

- I've updated quite a bit in the article itself as well as uploading some recently discovered old photos but I really really wish that there's more to be added especially when there are other editors around who might be able to contribute more. Feel free to drop by anytime to input, cheers. --Dave1185 (talk) 12:56, 22 April 2008 (UTC)
