[edit] Vulcan Change

"Another, less common, grip is known as the Vulcan change, where the pitcher wedges the ball between his middle finger and ring finger.[citation needed] Its name derives from the grip looking similar to the "Live long and prosper" hand gesture used by Vulcans, a fictional extra-terrestrial race depicted on the television series Star Trek. This pitch's break resembles a forkball, going straight downward. Éric Gagné, a former premier closer, utilizes this pitch extremely effectively."

Apparently this has been on the page for a long time with no citation. Since it really doesn't seem possible, I'm going to take it off the page. Please feel free to put it back if and when you find a citation for it. --Cronodude360 20:15, 27 April 2007 (UTC)

Perhaps you should leave the editing of baseball pages to people who know something about baseball. Or people who can use Google, either way. In any case, it's a real pitch. Not only does Gagne throw it, so too do Tom Glavine Justin Speier, and Guillermo Mota. --johnhenrybonham 2:00, 30 April 2007 (UTC)
There's no need to imply that I'm clueless about baseball. A friend who plays baseball told me it was impossible, and seeing as how it had no citation, I figured it was a safe idea to take it off the page until a citation was found. --Cronodude360 19:43, 5 May 2007 (UTC)
