[edit] Grammy

There was no deliberation by the committee. He was nominated (along with Mayer) on December 7 (per the official Grammy site). But the Grammies are notoriously slow in getting around to and properly recognizing the "help." It took him a while to actually get the statue, but his nomination (and thus win) was automatic.[1]

since winning, there's been rumor that in the best album category, any producer, engineer or mixer working on more than 50 percent of the album wins a Grammy(tm) of their very own. It's taken weeks to determine if this in fact true, but after lots of phone calls, it turns out that indeed, Chad Franscoviak, having worked on 100 percent of the album is taking home an award.
This is directly from what Mayer said. CF wasn't initially considered by Grammy to be eligible, but "after lots of phone calls" it was proven he was eligible and he now has his Grammy. -- lincalinca 05:47, 31 March 2007 (UTC)
