The image "Channel4 red triangle.jpg" is originally copyright, but two editors feel it is covered by fair use because:

  1. It is a very low resolution mock-up
  2. The item in question has negligible, if any, commercial value (and never had any) - it is a content warning message. As such its inclusion in this article cannot reasonably be held to deprive the copyright holder of any income.
  3. The image is significant because it holds a notable and newsworthy place in the history of British television censorship. As such it was used in news broadcasts from its publication in 1987, and has continued to be used in similar contexts since.
  4. The image is important to the context of the article Red triangle (Channel 4), which discusses the image
