Charles Wallis Haeger (born September 19, 1983 in Livonia, Michigan) is a knuckleball pitcher for the Chicago White Sox of Major League Baseball. He is a 2001 graduate of Detroit Catholic Central High School in Redford, Michigan (now located in Novi). He was selected by the White Sox in the 25th round of the 2001 amateur draft and made his major league debut May 10, 2006 in a start against the Los Angeles Angels. He was originally drafted as a conventional pitcher, but over two years accumulated a record of 1-2. He retired to pursue a career in golf, but experimented with the knuckleball and made a comeback and still struggled at the Triple-A level (4-11 record and 4.81 ERA in 17 games), but the White Sox took a chance and called him up to the Majors where he has had respectable numbers.

On July 22, 2007, White Sox pitcher Jon Garland started against Boston Red Sox knuckleball pitcher Tim Wakefield. Garland was relieved by Haeger in the 5th inning, marking the first time in recent years that two knuckleballers have faced each other in the same game.[1]
