Charley Brewer (quarterback)

Charley Brewer is a former American football player. He was the starting quarterback of the Texas Longhorns from 1953-1955. His son, Robert, was the starting quarterback for the Longhorns during the 1981 and 1982 season.
A native of Lubbock, Brewer prepped at Lubbock High School, guided by coach C. R. Pattison. He quarterbacked the Lubbock Westerners to a 13–0 seasons and the 4A state championship in 1951.[1]
He later moved to the Dallas suburb of Richardson and started a 43-year career in banking. In 1998, Brewer was inducted into the Texas Football Hall of Fame in Waco.
