Charles Snelling (figure skater)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Charles Snelling (born 1937 - ) is a former Canadian figure skater. He captured five consecutive Canadian titles from 1954 to 1958, and won a bronze medal at the 1957 World Figure Skating Championships. In 1958, he retired to attend medical school, but after graduation, he returned to competitive skating and competed at the 1964 Winter Olympics. Dr. Charles Snelling now lives and works in Vancouver, B.C. as a burns and plastic specialist. In January 2008, it was reported that Patrick Chan, the 2008 Canadian men's figure skating champion , at 17, was the youngest Canadian champion in history. That's incorrect: Charles Snelling was only 16 when he won his first title in 1954.[citation needed]
