Charles Lawrence Schleien (born December 31, 1953) is is Director, Pediatric Critical Care Medicine; Professor of Pediatrics and Anesthesiology; Vice Chair for Administration-Department of Pediatrics, at New York Presbyterian Hospital.

Dr. Schleien, whose full name is Charles Lawrence Schleien, was born in Washington, DC. He grew up in Flushing, New York.
He went to Queens College for his college degree and went to graduate school at Mt. Sinai School Of Medicine. He did his residency at Baylor College of Medicine in Texas and Johns Hopkins University in Maryland which is also where he did his fellowship. His medical interests include: CPR, brain ischemia, neurologic monitoring of high risk patients, brain cooling after trauma or cardiac arrest, congenital heart disease.
Until 1999 he worked at Jackson Memorial Hospital.
