Charles Petty-Fitzmaurice, 9th Marquess of Lansdowne

Charles Maurice Petty-FitzMaurice, 9th Marquess of Lansdowne LVO (born February 21, 1941) is a British peer, the son of George Petty-FitzMaurice, 8th Marquess of Lansdowne and Barbara Chase.

He married, firstly, Lady Frances Helen Mary Eliot (6 March 19436 January 2004), daughter of Nicholas Eliot, 9th Earl of St Germans, on 9 October 1965 and they were divorced in 1987. They had four children:

  • Lady Arabella Helen Mary Petty-Fitzmaurice (b. 30 August 1966), married Rupert Unwin and had issue.
  • Lady Rachel Barbara Violet Petty-Fitzmaurice (b. 30 January 1968), married James Spickernell and had issue.
  • Simon Petty-FitzMaurice, Earl of Kerry (b. 1970)
  • Lord William Nicholas Charles Petty-Fitzmaurice (b. 25 September 1973) married (engaged 29 April 2003)[1] Rebecca Sansum (b. 1982), of Chippenham, Wiltshire.[2]. They have a daughter

He married, secondly, Fiona Mary Merritt, in 1987. He was page of honour to the Queen in 1956. The family home is Bowood House.
