Charles H. Beeson

Charles H. Beeson (or Charles Henry Beeson) (1870-1949) was a respected scholar of Latin who worked in the United States in the first half of the twentieth century. His book A Primer of Medieval Latin: An Anthology of Prose and Poetry has been since its publication in 1935 and remains one of the leading texts used by students learning post-classical Latin. In addition, he was an active researcher and reviewer, especially for the journal Classical Philology.
