Charles Bowles

Charles E. Bowles (March 24, 1884 in Yale, Michigan - July 30, 1957 in Detroit, Michigan) was a politician from Michigan. He served as Mayor of Detroit. He was recalled from office after allegations that he had tolerated or colluded with gangsters and the Ku Klux Klan. He was also allegedly tied to the murder of radio commentator Gerald E. "Jerry" Buckley.
