[edit] Watergate scandal
i was getting ready to revert your recent paragraph addition to this article, but saw that you appear to be new here, and wanted to spare you that shock i got when one of my first contributions was reverted. my problem with the addition is that it's, in my opinion, unnecessarily wordy, and contained unencyclopedic phrases such as, "A few might speculate". in particular, this sentence is, in my opinion, ungrammatical and almost unreadable:
"But because such an action would be so highly unethical, and because President Nixon had such a relative advantage in the polls and so such an illicit action would be so foolhardy with much to lose if discovered, therefore any link between the president's re-election campaign and this "third -rate burglary" was unimaginable for the vast majority of Americans at this early point in the scandal."
the standard wikipedia recommendation is that i should just make the changes i see fit, rather than considering you the "author" of the section. however, since wikipedia can be a strange situation to get used to, i wanted to run it by you first. i'll be happy to discuss further with you, or i will make the changes if you don't.
