[edit] Tradewars external links
I welcome you to add inline citations if there is truely information that is referenced in the article. Let me list the links I deleted, and why:
- The Cabal's Secret Hideout - The best TW info site on the net! --
- Who says it's "the best"? This is the closest thing to a source out of the bunch, but it's not listed as a reference (and not cited in the text)
- TWX Proxy - The veteran's Tradewars Helper!
- ATTAC - Commercial Windows Helper
- SWATH - Commercial Windows Helper with GUI map
- Helpers are applications, not references. These promote external programs, (some) are for-profit, and do not contribute to the article
- Telnet Sites - The Stardock's list of TradeWars 2002 networks
- Lists of Tradewars servers (i.e. links that exist solely to promote other websites) are not appropriate
Please see our external links guideline for requirements regarding external links. Hope this helps. /Blaxthos 04:20, 16 April 2007 (UTC)
- I've run Tradewars servers since the early 1990's, both as BBS doors and as TWGS (as recently as 2 years ago). I own Swath, and several other helpers, and I understand how to play the game. Once again, sites that exist to promote their commercial products (ie helpers) are not appropriate links for wikipedia. The purpose of a wikipedia article is to actually describe TW and its significance -- Wikipedia is not a place to host or promote strategy guides, player tips, etc. I know you've self-identified as a Tradewars fanatic (paraphrased) but that does not mean that we're going to violate or change the rules so you can include your favorite Tradewars helper and information sites. To clarify again, if you can demonstrate exactly where information is being referenced in the article then you may link those sites via inline citations, as long as those sites meet our reliable source requirements. Hope this helps. /Blaxthos 13:58, 16 April 2007 (UTC)
