Talk:Center for Disease Control Boys

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Center for Disease Control Boys has historical relevence for several reasons. It was Chris Cornell's first band before he rocketed to stardom in Soundgarden. It was started by George Hackett who became Andrea Hackett, President of the Las Vegas Dancers Alliance, the first stripper union in Las Vegas. And it included Ben McMillan, founder of Gruntruck and Skin Yard (both on Wikipedia). Now I admit, in the few days I've worked on this page I've had difficulty finding "reliable" references for a band that lasted several months. But I'm trying. I've listed the references I can find. I have posters, paraphernalia, and copies of the 45" single which I plan to upload to the site. The few records that exist today are currently selling for $400-$650 apiece. That makes the CDC Boys' record one of the most valuable 45's of all time. --Andreafed (talk) 19:20, 21 February 2008 (UTC)

I'm trying to help here. Don't give up. Gimmetrow 19:33, 21 February 2008 (UTC)
We're getting there. Please don't try to put the lyrics back in, though, unless a proper copyright release is made. --Orange Mike | Talk 20:42, 22 February 2008 (UTC)

Well, the label belonged to Dean Wartti who's actually helping to build this site. His email address is wartti@earthlink.net. If anyone has copyright release authority it would be him. How do we prove we have the rights to these lyrics? Do I put a copy of the GNU Free Documentation License directly on the page? --Andreafed (talk) 17:51, 24 February 2008 (UTC)

The question is not who owned the label, but who owns the copyright. If that copyright holder is willing to donate the lyrics to the public domain, for anybody to use (waiving ASCAP, BMI, etc. rights), then they would contact info-en-c@wikimedia.org! --Orange Mike | Talk 01:14, 3 March 2008 (UTC)
