Central State Bank competes as one of the two largest banks of Muscatine, IA, with a market share ranging between 33% and 35%. Central State Bank is owned by Central Bancshares, Inc, and has 4 locations in Muscatine, and 1 in Wilton, IA. Central State Bank is FDIC insured, and provides services including Free Checking, Savings accounts, CDs, IRAs, and all other common banking services.

Central State Bank began with the combination of a savings bank and commercial bank that operated under separate charters in the same building as was custom at the time. Central State Bank the reorganized as the first First National Bank of Muscatine (no relation to the present bank of the same name), but then finally changed name to Central State Bank. Central State Bank had the first drive through banking in Muscatine.
