From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Center for Israel Studies at Yeshiva University reflects the longstanding relationship between Yeshiva University and the land and State of Israel.

The Center supports scholars and students who offer academic insight into Israel's history, culture, and regional issues from antiquity to the present. It serves as a focal point for the study of Israel at Yeshiva University and aims to develop the premier faculty of Israel area studies in North America, to foster the study of Israel across Yeshiva University's curriculum, and to offer public education on subjects dealing with the land and people of Israel.

Steven Fine, PhD, Professor of Jewish History, is the director of the Center for Israel Studies at Yeshiva University.

The Center's inaugural conference, "The Temple of Jerusalem: From Moses to the Messiah," was held on May 11-12, 2008.
