Centenary Heights State High School is a State School located in Toowoomba, Queensland in the suburb Centenary Heights. It has approximately 1100 students.
Centenary Heights was founded in 1968. The school's current principal is Maryanne Walsh, who has been in that position since 2003. The school has recently just spent more than $150,000 upgrading the library into a multi resource centre. The upgrade will assist students in completing assignments and aid in their studies.
[edit] Community Initiatives
The main one, is the lifeline hamper appeal. The students donate money or non-perishable food items, which are then presented to the Toowoomba branch of Lifeline for distribution as soon as that afternoon. The organisers of the Lifeline Hamper Appeal, the Centenary Heights Interact Club run by students, each year sets a target. In the year 2007 it is 3333 items. This tradition is now it its third year, each year the goal is smashed. In 2007, Centenary Students fell well below par, and didn't quite make the target much to the disappointment of organisers.
The school also holds an annual Blood Drive, with 50 senior students donating blood to the Red Cross in 2007.
