The project AmIVital is a Spanish research project, which have been started in the year 2007. AmIVital is a research project that takes charge of developing a new generation of technologies and tools for the ICT for the shaped, design, implementation and operation of devices and systems of Ambient Intelligence (AmI). Its main objective is to provide services and tools for some kinds of disabilities for elderly people and dependencies colectives.
The aim of the project is to contribute in the European concept of AAL (Ambient Assisted living) iniciative, giving backup to the independent life and the mobility of the eldery people, with chronic sick and dependent people.

The general aim of the AmIVital project , in the digital personal environment for the health and the well-being, is the development of a new generation of technology and tools of information and communication for the shaped, design, implementation and Ambient Intelligence devices operation (AmI) whose aim is the obtaining of services and personal backups of the well-being, the health and the independent life. These objectives are integrated in the European concept of Environment of Vital Aid (AAL, Ambient Assisted living room).

The large groups of people that are priority object for this project are: elderly people, ambulatory sharp sick, chronic sick, dependent people, sportsmen and people that carry out physical activities.

Through the development of the project AmIVital the prominent technological objectives are undertaken, that fall inside advanced fields of the ICT, among the ones that they are found: networks of intelligent sensors, biosensors, mobile systems , which they are integrated in the own human body or in the clothes, ubiquitous wireless networks and mobile communications of 4ª and 5ª generation, in which networks of personal area they are included and networks in context and ubiquitous computation, interfaces multimodal (PCs, PDAs, telephone, etc.), systems of geolocalization of users (as can be labels RFID), automated and systems of monitoring and alarms of the home, etc.
