I am a recent immigrant to the U.K. and Somerset. I enjoy trying to capture the beautiful light and landscapes of this amazing place and am contributing photos to sites in the Somerset wiki project.

I am a semi-retired science writer and editor. I have a M.S. and Ph.D. in Botany and a MA in Journalism from the University of Michigan and worked for 13 years at the U.S. National Institutes of Health. I have two sons. My spouse, also semi-retired, is discerning a calling to ministry in the Church of England. We enjoy exploring the countryside on his motorcycle.
