Cecil Aynsley

Cecil Aynsley (born 1902 in Charters Town, Queensland, died 1975) was an Australian rugby league player for Queensland and also represented Australia on four occasions scoring one try in each game. His position of choice was on the Wing.

Aynsley began his rugby league career playing for Brisbane side the Western Suburbs Panthers in 1921 three years later he made his debut for Australia against the touring Great Britain side playing in all three matches, scoring on each occasion.

During the 1925 season with the Panthers he toured New Zealand in which he had a prolific tour of the country scoring 34 tries in only eleven matches. This led to the local press proclaiming him as "the Gloaming of rugby league".

He played his fourth and final test match for Australia three years later in Brisbane against Great Britain where he scored his fourth and final try in as many appearances.
