Search in OMIM for this one at http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/Omim/getmap.cgi?l188230 shows: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/mapview/maps.cgi?taxid=9606&CHR=11&maps=genes-r,pheno,morbid,genec&R1=on&query=THY1&VERBOSE=ON&ZOOM=3

Where the resulte show 11q23.3, THY1 to 11q24.2, ROBO4

But actual location of Thy1 is probably 11q22.3-23. Can somebody resolve this? --Dr.saptarshi 03:09, 1 October 2006 (UTC)

This article is looking fairly good! You've obviously put a lot of work into it. Dr Aaron 09:05, 7 December 2006 (UTC)

Thanks Dr Aaron, how can we make it into a wikipedia:good article ? By adding some images and tables and also see boxes? --Dr.saptarshi 00:03, 15 March 2007 (UTC)

Let's try an infobox for people who may not have the patience to read the text understand the importance of this protein ( i have nothing personal with this protein):

Thy1/CD90
[[Image:{{{image}}}|300px| ]]
{{{caption}}}
Records:
  • Smallest member of the immunoglobulin family
  • Led to the discovery and characterization of GPI anchor
  • Most abundant glycoprotein on muouse T cells, with >106 copies/cell, covering ~10–20% of surface.
  • one of the most heavily glycosylated membrane proteins (carbohydrate content ~30%)
useful applications:
  • Very useful specific marker for:
  • Its promoter has been used as a "brain specific" expression promoter for making transgenic mice.
  • Thy1 is a pan T cell antigen in mice.
  • Thy1 antibody injection is the best animal model of glomerulonephritis
Inportance in the cell:
I am not very good with infobox formatting.. I created the box lot of trial and error. Somebody please see the article page and fix the infobox I put in there. --Dr.saptarshi 02:00, 15 March 2007 (UTC)
