CBUF is a Canadian radio station, which broadcasts the programming of Radio-Canada's La Première Chaîne network in Vancouver, British Columbia. The station broadcasts at 97.7 FM.
The station was first launched in 1967.
The station also has rebroadcasters in Chilliwack, Kelowna, Terrace, Prince George, Kitimat, Kamloops, Dawson Creek, Port Alberni, Victoria and Whitehorse.
Ironically, despite having one of the best FM signals in the Lower Mainland, or for that matter, along the west coast of North America (100,000 watts ERP at 1860 ft EHAAT) the station averages less than 20,000 listeners and has a market share of just 0.3%. This has led to speculation that the CBC, with its strategy of putting the English Radio One service on FM in other major markets like Toronto, Montreal and Ottawa, may apply to the CRTC to flip Radio One from 690 AM to 97.7 FM and put La Première Chaîne on the AM frequency.
