Cavalier song does need to be in the encyclopedia because in its own way it is as important as lute song and air de cours. The traditional chronological concert would include Cavalier Song to transition between Lute Songs and Henry Purcell. Stuart Masque reconstructions have been few and far between but it was an important historical genre which contributed to some extent to starting the English Civil War, vis ... The Triumph of Peace... put on with a large amount of parliament raised money by the King.
The Stuart Masque needs an entry and unfigured bass needs some discussion. Everyone knows about figured bass but unfigured is another issue........
I believe part of the problem with Stuart Masque is that only texts survive complete, there is no complete music, only fragments, so no authoritative performance can be made without reconstruction.
