Catalyst Paper Corporation
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Catalyst Paper Corporation was founded in 1946 as British Columbia Forest Products Limited. Its purpose was sawmilling and logging in the Canadian province of British Columbia. In 1987 BCFP was purchased by Fletcher Challenge, a company from New Zealand. It went under this name until 2000, when the company was bought out by Norske Skog, a Norwegian organisation. A year later, the Canadian aspect was changed to NorskeCanada. October 2005 once again saw the name change, this time to Catalyst Paper. Early in 2006, Norske Skog sold off its remaining shares in the company, ending its six year venture into the Canadian market.
