Talk:Casting From the Earth to the Moon

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I am confused by this passage:

"Despite the number of actors involved in both Apollo 13 and this series, only one actor portrayed the same character in each production. Clint Howard, the brother of Ron Howard, played EECOM Sy Liebergot in the former, and "Paul Lucas" in the latter."

Don't those two sentences contradict each other?

Agent-garak

They don't necessarily contradict each other (the "one actor" could have been someone other than Howard). But they are certainly misleading when presented in conjunction like that. MLilburne 13:23, 6 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] DVD commentary

I am confused by the footnote to a DVD commentary for From The Earth to the Moon - there isn't one.

[edit] Page move

Shouldn't the title of the page be "Casting From the Earth to the Moon", with the "to" lowercase? Darry2385 23:42, 9 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Costner Image

The non-free image of Kevin Costner was inserted specifically because of his resemblance to Jim Lovell. Whoever deleted it obviously didn't get that. A pity. Michael DoroshTalk 17:13, 7 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Earthtothemoonapollo11.jpg

Image:Earthtothemoonapollo11.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

[edit] Another victory for Betacommandbot

There was an excellent pairing of photos here, showing the actual Apollo 11 crew photo, and a similar one made for the miniseries showing the actors playing the Apollo 11 crew. Was an excellent illustration of the challenges discussed in the lede to the article in finding actors who physically resemble the historical characters. A shame that an automated script removed it.139.48.25.61 (talk) 16:27, 12 March 2008 (UTC)
