Talk:Cast (band)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Bold textI can't find anything more on Cast! To say they were a fairly big band in the 90's, people soon forget! Ah well. Alright is still a grand song.--Crestville 12:46, 25 January 2006 (UTC)
'Magic Hour' has to be the most underrated album in existence. Anyone reading this, I highly advise to buy if you haven't already. Just thought I'd mention this (Terramax).
If you look up the lyrics of "Looking Glass" on Google, you'll probably be told that the last lines are "In the stone is cast - // The glass is smashed". This is what it says in the sleevenotes of my copy (which is the re-release rather than the original, so I don't know what that says). If you listen to the actual track, which I just did to confirm, these lines are followed by several repeats of "The change is cast", something distorted in the background which I can't make out, and some "doo de doo" stuff. So I've corrected the article, but I don't necessarily hold out much hope that Googlers won't switch it back again. Onebyone 20:41, 29 May 2006 (UTC)
- Well this post should stop them. I've listen and I confirm it too. It says it a few times doesn't it!--Crestville 21:11, 29 May 2006 (UTC)
I checked this article out of interest, some of the stuff related to The La's is scruffy or wrong. Just to note: Please cite John Power stating "drug use" was a factor in his leaving of The La's. It may well be (I would state he simply grew tied of endless re-recording), but allegations like that do need to be cited. I take it such a comment is sourced from an interview. Plus, there were three new songs played at The La's' reunion last year - not "none" as this article suggests, Power himself has spoken numerous times on the status of the La's album, and "weasel words" are used to give the article a strange slant. I'll edit it myself in a day or so but I know next to nothing about Cast so I'd rather someone with a more comprehensive outlook do it. ToneLa 18:55, 5 October 2006 (UTC)
I have changed England to UK in the after the split/reunion bit because they played in T-in the park in Scotland aswell as England. I actually now John quite well, though I haven't see him for years, I was actually there in Kirklands when he told us he had just got on a YPS to play bass in some band, which suprised us all as he couldn't play @ the time. I also knew Lee through John, I am never too sure what ppl are trying to say about the drug thing , like there is some doubt about Lee's Heroin use, but I can say from first hand experience that Lee did have a drug habbit, well @ least I have seen him buying drugs, I assume he used them afterwards, I can't see him forking out and then throwing them away.
