[edit] st / ct ligatures?

"Their "Founders Caslon" closely follows William Caslon's original design, with the addition of "ct" and "st" ligatures not found in the original."

This sentence says the 'original' Caslon didn't have these ligs, but both the specimen in the article and the American Declaration of Independence exhibit them. Is this sentence just false, or is there more to this issue? I can't claim to know anything about the matter at all. Kiolden 22:32, 10 October 2007 (UTC)

Rather than finding out who put that statement in and engaging in time-consuming talk I put in a citation request. That way at least readers will know the statement has not been verified.
The sample of Caslon's original English roman contains a ct ligature and several long s t ligatures, the later not being quite the same thing as a short st ligature—Arbo talk 19:38, 11 October 2007 (UTC)
