[edit] Fair use for Ran (film)

This image, CastleBurn Ran.jpg, is being linked here; though the picture is subject to copyright I (Palm_Dogg) feel it is covered by the U.S. fair use laws because:

  1. This image illustrates the text next to which it appears, which describes the destruction of Hidetora's castle, and is arguably the most famous scene in the entire film.
  2. It does not limit the copyright owner's rights to market or sell the film in any way;
  3. This image is used on various websites, so its use on Wikipedia does not make it significantly more accessible or visible than it already is.
  4. The image is being used in an informative way and should not detract from the film.
  5. No free or public domain images have been located for this film.
