While the piece of software is protected by copyright by default since the authors have not explicedly given a license for the work, in those days the software would have been considered public domain as a demo, where the copyright holders encouraged a liberal view on copying of their own software....as well as others. Furthermore,

  • The product was never sold in any way
  • The image's only purpose it to aid in the description of the article
