Castellum in monte tauno is a name originating from the Annals of Tacitus. The term describes a Roman castle located at the outskirts of the Taunus mountains near Frankfurt, part of the Roman defensive border system in Germania, the limes. Though not entirely proven, this castellum could describe the present day town of Friedberg/Hesse.
