Castel d'Ario is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Mantua in the Italian region Lombardy, located about 150 km east of Milan and about 15 km east of Mantua. It was the birthplace of Tazio Nuvolari (1892-1953). As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 4,433 and an area of 22.4 km².[1]

The municipality of Castel d'Ario contains the frazioni (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Susano and Villagrossa.

Castel d'Ario borders the following municipalities: Bigarello, Roncoferraro, Sorgà, Villimpenta.
