Decarlos Sanders was born April 29, 1984 in Memphis, TN. He was a standout basketball player at Westside High School where he was an All-Region selection Averaging 21 points per game. He later recieved a scholarship to Hiwasse Junior College. He played two years there before transferring to Henderson State University. At Hiwassee He Averaged 17 points per game and earned All-region there as well. He recieved his Associates of Science degree in Criminal Justice. At Henderson State University his career was cut by a knee injury that forced him to stop playing basketball. He focused solely on academics and is on his way to earning a BA in Sociology. He is an outstanding citizen and does a lot of community service as well as read to children who are currently in grade school and middle school. He is a great example of what a person should be coming from a large city with a family that didn't have much. He always believed that he would one day be able to take of his family and made that first step by going to college.
