[edit] Neutrality
While I agree that Carrot Top is just about at the bottom of the humor ladder, is the statement to that affect not a bit POV? Some people must like him quite a bit. Is there a more neutral way of mentioning how reviled he is by many? -R. fiend 09:11, 19 Nov 2004 (UTC)
I think something needs to be added about his near-universally scorned status as a "comic" —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.147.93.41 (talk) 19:44, 25 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Informal
This article has been written in an extremely informal fashion and needs to be reworked.
Example: "When a club owner couldn't believe he couldn't get a gig and booked him for the New Year's Eve night at his own club."
[edit] Death
I very much doubt that Carrot Top is dead, due to the fact that it's barely 2 AM in Nevada, and that I cannot find any news stories referring to his death--Vercalos 08:56, 28 February 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Say what you will about the man...
But everyone I know who has seen him live (including myself) has left with new found respect. Yes he relies on an extensive collection of props, but there is no other word to describe his act that is more accurate than "hilarious". Perhaps people should spend less time criticising him and stick to providing facts. Opinions have no place on the actual wiki page.
Now if you are concerned with adding legitimate information, why not add the fact that he has a Pomeraninan (dog) named Jessica Alba. If anyone has any information on the background story to that one, I would love to see it added. There is a reference at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pomeranian_%28dog%29 so I assume it is factual, but that is all I could find on it.--151.151.73.171 15:55, 9 June 2006 (UTC)CosterM
- I agree, he's funny. The prop thing tends to trick people into thinking he's a hack, but he's actually funnier than a lot of the comics who attack him -- especially in the last few years, when he's become kind of a fallback punchline for hack comedians. As for the article, it's a mess -- free-floating biographical tidbits and criticisms, edited with a chainsaw. Some more biographical info would be good. Some citation for the plastic surgery thing would be nice, since I've not heard about it before, though I know he's started working out and he's all musclebound now, which is just bizarre. It could definitely use some examples of his material. It can be fixed, but it'll take some work. MrBook 14:38, 29 June 2006 (UTC)
- omfg. I couldn't believe anyone would ever describe him as "musclebound" so I looked for a recent picture and holy hell! [1] gross!! steroids much? and that face?! is he wearing eyeliner or something? I mean who looks in the mirror and thinks 'oh yeah, this is a good look for me' when they see THAT looking back at them? someone needs to tell him that his freak flag is flying way TOO high. Do NOT click on the image if you don't want nightmares. --Deglr6328 22:49, 10 July 2006 (UTC)

- I've seen his act, not in full, but on several TV performances which are usually 5 or 10 minutes long. Does he do stuff in his act that he doesn't do on TV? Because most of his stuff on TV isn't that funny. There are a some good propjokes, but most of them are pretty mundane TheHYPO 16:23, 20 August 2006 (UTC)

- That's what I would like to know - it would be hard to see how he could do what he does on T.V. for 5-10 minutes on stage for an hour. - Matthew238 05:30, 31 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Sorry, I can't resist:
- Carrot Top’s brother, Garret, is a member of the Virginia Air National Guard.
How awful it must be for him to be called 'Garret Top'. --Heath 69.174.67.197 04:15, 7 August 2006 (UTC)
- Well, Carrot Top's birth name is Scott Thompson, so I assume his brother goes by the name Garret Thompson, which is pretty pedestrian and not too humurous. Unless you think really hard about it. "Garret Thompson". Heh heh... Garret Thompson. --jeffrey elliot 06:18, 31 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] citation
Carrot Top's father was on the new I've Got A Secret (his secret was that he was Carrot Top's father), and his intro revealed his former NASA line of work - If someone wants to figure out how to properly cite that, I couldn't figure out a convenient way
[edit] "Brick-red" Hair?
He doesn't have brick-red hair. It's orange, hence the name "Carrot Top." Brick-red is innacurrate and doesn't make sense.
[edit] Carrot top - bodybuilder?
Someone please explain this picture - http://img.waffleimages.com/4b000ec8b576b562522139cd60dd734fe1650bb3/carrot_top_buff2.JPG --Liface 07:22, 21 September 2006 (UTC)
- Apparently the 'Top has bulked up. He was looking a bit buffer and more toned than usual in his appearances on Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn a few years ago, but he's really put on muscle since then. It's not a joke photo--his new buff physique was evident in his recent guest appearance on Reno 911!. -- Pennyforth 17:12, 26 September 2006 (UTC)
Does anyone else think he uses steriods? --NicholasPrakash 02:52, 11 December 2006 (UTC)
Noone has a body like that without steroids. How wonderful to be a star and connected to get the juice. (sarcasm). Note that the link above will not work when linked from Wikipedia - just cut and copy the URL into a fresh browser window and it will work fine. Gerbera 22:14, 29 October 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Picture in article is creepy...
I cringe whenever I see it...
- It should be changed...there are better pics of him out there and I'm sure one not's copyrighted.
- He looks like a woman having an orgasm. We need to change that picture.
-
-
- I have to wonder what kind of women you're accustomed to seeing. I don't disagree that it is a most unflattering picture, however. - Tenmiles 06:33, 23 July 2007 (UTC)

- The current one ain't too good, either. Is there no way we can get a photo that doesn't have him sporting a painted-on mustache and devil horns? 24.6.66.193 09:36, 19 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Alleged celebrity in Sweden
"Is a huge celebrity in Sweden. [3]"
This is a most foul and outright lie. Being a Swede, I can assure you that. And the link doesn't work; it probably never has. Since I'm all new here, however, I'll wait before correcting this insult. --Taeronai 09:43, 13 December 2006 (UTC)
- It's cute the way you Europeans get all defensive about your nations. Say what you will about Americans, but 60% of us will join right in when someone's talking about how our nation is a stupid oppressive shit-hole.
- But that's because it's true about Americans... besides, this has nothing to do with discussion while the comment above it actually talks about the content.
[edit] Chairman of the Board
I defy anyone to explain the plot of 'Chairman of the Board' if there is such a thing as Glow in the Dark paint in the universe of the film. --Jperlin 22:51, 5 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Birthyear
Was Carrot Top born in 1965, 1967 or 1969? As said in the article, Carrot Top has said both 1967 and 1969, yet the article says 1965? Hotwine8 20:14, 25 February 2007 (UTC)
You can do the math: he graduated from high school in 1983 which is crossreferenced. You only have my word that he was definitely not 14 at the time. Probably not 16 either. 18 would be a more reasonable figure. Student7 00:19, 28 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] 1-800-CALL-ATT?
I replaced the text "AT&T" in this article with "1-800-CALL-ATT" since that's a more accurate description of the product he did commercials for. But someone reverted the edit and said "Not an ad for AT&T!", even though my edit was very accurate - it corrected a mistake that someone made when writing this article. I'd like whoever reverted my edit to apologize for damaging my constructive work here on Wikipedia! 65.34.126.252 23:20, 27 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] RIDICULOUS SYNTAX
"Numerous rumors have surfaced about the appearance of Carrot Top in recent appearances."
^are you serious?
[edit] METH
I'm new to wikipedia, so I'm not really sure if this can be listed at ALL. I can't find the sources for this rumour, but carrot top has been seen buying meth in clubs in Central Florida. I believe it was actually Orlando. If I was able to find the source for this (or if someone else does), will I be able to add this to his Personal Life as something like "There are unconfirmed reports of several people witnessing him purchase Methamphetamine in Orlando clubs." Or since it's just a rumour, not a real printing press newspaper kind of source I'd assume, it isn't allowed?
- No; rumors, especially libelous unsourced rumors, do not belong here. Read the infobox at the top of this discussion page which makes note of Wikipedia's rules for biographical articles on living persons. Now, if he were busted for buying meth, and it was referenced in news publications, you could note the event here, citing those publications. Assuming you found a source for this rumor to cite, you'd still be on very tenuous grounds to use it, since - in the absence of a confirmed published report of the event, it's still just hearsay. - Tenmiles 05:57, 19 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Florida vs Canada
I've seen this batted back and forth: did CT grow up in Canada or Florida? The school from which he graduated was in Florida, and his father's job was in Florida. So, from where are we getting that he grew up in Canada? --Mark H Wilkinson (t, c) 21:10, 24 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Surname
Why is his surname THOMPSON while his father's surname is given in the article as WEIGAND? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 204.126.250.116 (talk) 19:07, 3 October 2007 (UTC)
[edit] surgery and buffin' up
why doesnt it say anything about his plastic surgey and gettin' stacked? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.153.217.192 (talk) 00:12, 18 April 2008 (UTC)
[edit] BLEACH
In the anime "BLEACH," Ichigo Kurosaki is sometimes referred to as Carrot Top (for his orange hair). Is there any source for this? cus I thought it would be a cool peice of info, especially since he is so well know that he is mentioned "indirectly" in a Japanese show. 75.105.128.38 (talk) 04:37, 9 June 2008 (UTC)
