[edit] Humidity
How to deal with humidity? Is it a problem on rainy or very cold days? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 62.178.160.173 (talk) 21:39, 23 October 2007 (UTC)
- With my CarPC (technically VanPC) I have never had a problem with humidity; however I do live in Iowa and only deal with high humidity 1/3 of the year. During the winter, the only thing that has affected my CarPC is that the LCD screen transitions slow from screen to screen. Just like any LCD screen when it is cold. This has never affected the booting up of the CarPC or anything else other then the LCD screen. After it runs for a little while (~5 minutes most) the screen will be warmed up and run fine. —(HaryyOrwell (talk) 18:30, 2 April 2008 (UTC))
[edit] Copy Paste Job
Parts of this are direct copy/pastings from http://www.mobile-effects.com/modules.php?name=Content&pa=showpage&pid=99 mainly in the area dealing in computer hardware about the screen. JTMILLER 14:31, 18 October 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Possible merge of AutoPC
IMO, the AutoPC article should remain a seperate article. It is the name of a specific brand of "carputer". Any generic text that is not about that specific brand should be taken out of that article and put here or elsewhere as appropriate. --ChrisRuvolo (t) 20:31, 5 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Unencyclopedic
Most of this article seems very unencyclopedic and should be rewritten
[edit] External Links
It might be a good idea to keep an eye on this section; it seems to be a magnet for linkspam. The 3 links remaining at this point seem legit, but any additions should be carefully reviewed. Happy editing : ) Doc Tropics 19:39, 19 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Addition of links
I received a message from TerrierFan about adding inappropriate external links to the page. I think there should be external links on this page to valid informational websites. Sorry I don't know much about Wikipedia, but I think it should be allowed to have external links so users can find more information.
Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, so what other reason would one have to add a link to the article? The informational websites don't sell products, have been on the Inet for years, and don't really benefit from being on Wikipedia's page. They're just simply a source for more information.
From what I can tell, the links fall under the "What Should be Linked" rule. See See the external links guideline
Looking over the links now and the rules, I see that there were some vendors. These have been removed from the page and just informational links remain. Thanks HurstOlds 03:02, 18 Nov 2007 (CST)
- I have left in the Mobile-Effects reference but we don't need it as both a reference and as an external link. However, there is no place for Digital-Car (we don't include discussion forums) nor carputers.org which is mainly a combination of forums and blogs. We also do not want marketing pictures of the screens nor 2 or 3 examples out of very many - we are not here to promote specific products. TerriersFan (talk) 22:26, 18 November 2007 (UTC)
