Talk:Carpathian Romani language

The page Bohemian Romani doesn't pretend it is a dialect of Carpathian Romany... Belgian man 12:36, 6 January 2006 (UTC)

The term Carpathian Romani (and many more terms for Romani dialects and dialect groups that are found in the entry "Romany language") are not used in mainstream Romani linguistics anymore. They are mostly refferred to as the "North Central" dialects of Romani. I plan to rewrite all the Romani dialectology entries gradually. At the moment, I started from the bottom, i.e. from individual low-level dialects, viz. with Bohemian Romani. Once that's done, I'll get back to entries for Romani dialect groupings, and then to the dialectology section of "Romany language". The outdated terminology and the history of classification of Romani dialects will of course be mentioned where appropriate. Viktor Elšík 13:10, 6 January 2006 (UTC)

OK, success! Belgian man 15:55, 9 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Merge?

Upon looking at the list of dialects at this article and the North Central Romani one, I noticed that they're pretty much the same. We don't need two articles about the same subject, so which one should be merged into which? --Khoikhoi 21:02, 25 March 2006 (UTC)
