[edit] Dubious Information

Caps and goal figures in the article likely contain European cup/Domestic cup data in addition to Domestic League data (this is very certain based on this user's previous edits containing similar information [1]. Please correct this issue and leave a note here, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Alfmaster#Footballers.27_European_goals, to warn this person about putting improper information on Wikipedia. --Palffy 21:22, 25 June 2006 (UTC)

Using the data from the FootballDatabase link now in the external links section, I've updated the infobox. If in need of changing, please site a source in this talk page thread, to secure reputable sources. I've taken the liberty of removing the template for better visibility, but left the note as is. [edit] Change the pic

Someone needs to change it ASAP, it's horrible and it'd be better if it'd be a pic of him in his club\nation uniform and\or in a football match. Yonatanh 16:01, 29 June 2006 (UTC)

==Is ther any truth in the rumor that he used to play American Football for Bara then want on to play fotball for them.

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Carlo Puyol 18abr2007.jpg

Image:Carlo Puyol 18abr2007.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. caps —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.129.186.169 (talk) 10:56, 29 October 2007 (UTC)

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

[edit] Spanish/Catalan

The opening to this article reads, "Carles Puyol i Saforcada (born April 13, 1978 in La Pobla de Segur, Catalonia, Spain) is a Spanish/Catalan footballer who is the current team captain of FC Barcelona." I'm going to edit the "Spanish/Catalan" part to read simply "Spanish". Is there any objection to this as he no longer plays for the Catalan national side and does play for the Spanish national side. Oleguer, a very proud Catalan, is not listed as "Spanish/Catalan" and I think that as Catalonia is not a separate country, it shouldn't be listed as a nationality. I welcome discussion of this, of course. Isaiah 17:36, 26 October 2007 (UTC)

Agreed. Spaniards of Catalonian, Basque or other region may disagree, but I think that the nationality is from Spain, as that is the country recognized by the UN. The Autonomous Region they are from could be named in the text but not as main nationality IMO. -- Alexf(Talk/Contribs) 17:47, 26 October 2007 (UTC)
