This article seems to be based entirely on opinion, possibly even one person's opinion. There are many weasel words and really no verified facts save the zip code. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 67.23.38.129 (talk • contribs) 07:32, August 12, 2006 (UTC)
- I have just spent a couple of days here in cardiff by the sea and what is said on the page is true. I have even talked to a couple of residents and they are all in accordance on what was said about this small CA town. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Smerkle (talk • contribs) 03:02, September 4, 2006 (UTC)

- wikipedia cares more about verifiability than truth. Find third party sources for how wonderful the town is. I'm sure they are out there. (newspapers, travel magazine articles, etc) --Rocksanddirt 23:25, 17 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Requested move
There is no other place called Cardiff-by-the-Sea, so the further qualifiers in the article's title are unnecessary. Dancarney (talk) 11:45, 9 June 2008 (UTC)
- Strong oppose. Cardiff-by-the-Sea, California seems possible, but this move violates settlement name conventions which still have a reasonable consensus. — Arthur Rubin (talk) 20:16, 9 June 2008 (UTC)
- I've looked up the relevant page on naming convention, and I think that, according to that, Cardiff-by-the-Sea, California should be the correct location. As a Briton, I find it difficult to understand why the state is required if only one place in the world has a particular name, but there you go. Dancarney (talk) 09:02, 10 June 2008 (UTC)
