Tourists leaving Johnston Ridge Observatory at Mt St Helens, 2 Oct 2004, around 3:00pm
When the Forest Service restricted access to the area within 7 miles of Mt St Helens, many tourists moved down the road to set up camp, waiting for the expected eruption. More arrived Sunday, including vendors selling hot dogs and coffee.
