Marchese Carlo Ginori (1702 - 1757), Italian politician (Tuscany) and founder of the Doccia porcelain factory near Florence jointley pioneered (along with Meissen)the development of European porcelain in the mid-Eighteenth century.Ginori porcelain was collected by Medicis and most of the nobility of Europe Napoleon's wife,Marie Louise of Austria.ordered an enourmous service that survives to this day.History dates said the pa ssion for oriental pottery in the 16th century led the Medici to found the the first European porcelain factory in Florence,this short lived venture flowered again in 1737 with the Ginori factoryat Doccia.Prisma de la Historia.
