Carving Out Our Name tells the story of four struggling actors as they develop their careers and become successful, as filmed by their roommate, Tony Zierra.

The movie premiered at the Toronto Film Festival on September 10, 2001. To date the film has not received a theatrical release. However, scenes from the film, along with some 'making of' footage, will feature in 2008's My Big Break.
